Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Vorto’s services and how we can help your business

About Vorto

Who is Vorto?

Vorto is a global financial services group that helps individuals and companies move money across borders. We specialise in currency exchange, payments, digital asset transactions, and treasury solutions for corporates and high-net-worth individuals.

What does Vorto Digital Asset Management (VDAM) do?

VDAM is our regulated European subsidiary based in Prague. It provides over-the-counter (OTC) crypto services, stablecoin conversions, and international payment solutions.

Is Vorto a bank?

No. Vorto is not a bank and we don’t take deposits or offer loans. We are a regulated payments and digital asset service provider. That means we can execute currency exchanges, arrange international transfers, and help clients move between fiat and crypto safely.

Is Vorto regulated?

Yes. Vorto Exchange LLC is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) in the US. Vorto Digital Asset Management s.r.o. (VDAM) is a licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in the EU, with a MiCA licence in progress. We follow strict compliance and anti-money laundering rules across all our entities.

Who can use Vorto’s services?

We work with companies and individuals who need professional, secure, and large-scale financial solutions. This includes corporates paying suppliers globally, HNWIs managing wealth in different currencies, and investors moving between fiat and crypto.

What types of clients do you work with?

Our clients are typically: corporates with international operations, family offices and high-net-worth individuals, investment funds and treasury managers, and entrepreneurs needing multi-currency or digital asset solutions.

Currency Exchange & Payments

How does Vorto help with currency exchange?

We give you access to competitive exchange rates, fast settlement, and personalised service. Instead of using a high-street bank, you can convert and transfer money with us more efficiently and often at lower cost.

What is the difference between deliverable FX and speculative FX trading?

Deliverable FX (what we do) means exchanging money that is actually sent or received – e.g. paying an overseas supplier in euros. Speculative FX is trading currencies for profit without the intention of taking delivery – we don’t do that.

What currencies can I exchange through Vorto?

We handle all major global currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, JPY, AED, etc.) and many emerging-market ones. We also bridge between fiat and popular digital assets like BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC.

How long do international payments take?

It depends on the route and currency. Many payments settle the same day; others may take 1-3 business days. Crypto-to-fiat settlements are usually same-day once funds are cleared.

What fees should I expect for currency exchange or payments?

Our fees are built into the exchange rate (a spread) or charged as a transparent transaction fee. We’ll always confirm your cost before you commit to a trade – no hidden charges.

Can Vorto help me pay suppliers or employees abroad?

Yes. We can manage cross-border payroll, supplier invoices, and treasury transfers, ensuring your recipients get funds in their local currency.

Do you offer forward contracts or just spot FX?

Primarily spot FX, but we also offer tailored treasury solutions, including forward contracts where regulation permits.

Crypto OTC & Stablecoins

What is OTC crypto trading?

OTC (over-the-counter) means trading large amounts of crypto directly with us instead of through a public exchange. This ensures privacy, security, and better pricing for big transactions.

Why would I use OTC instead of a public crypto exchange?

No slippage on large trades, direct settlement with us, higher security and privacy, and dedicated account manager support.

Which cryptocurrencies does Vorto support?

We focus on major digital assets used by corporates and HNWIs: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), and other regulated stablecoins.

How do stablecoin transactions work with Vorto?

You can send us stablecoins like USDT or USDC, and we’ll settle your chosen fiat currency (e.g. EUR or GBP) to your bank account – or vice versa. It’s a fast and efficient way to move value internationally.

Can I move seamlessly between crypto and fiat with Vorto?

Yes. That’s one of our core services. We provide same-day crypto-fiat conversions with transparent rates.

Are my digital assets held securely?

Yes. We use regulated custodians with institutional-grade security. Vorto does not hold client assets long-term; we facilitate immediate settlement.

How does settlement work for OTC crypto trades?

Typically, you send the crypto to our custodian wallet, and once received, we release fiat funds to your bank account. Settlement instructions are always agreed in advance.

Banking & Treasury Support

Can Vorto help me open international bank accounts?

Yes. Through our network of banking partners, we assist clients in opening accounts in multiple jurisdictions.

Do you provide multi-currency accounts?

Yes. We can arrange accounts where you can hold, receive, and send multiple currencies under one IBAN or account number.

What is a segregated account and why does it matter?

It’s an account where your funds are held separately from Vorto’s company money. This ensures your money is protected and only used for your transactions.

Are funds protected like they would be in a bank?

Funds are safeguarded in line with regulation, but they are not covered by deposit protection schemes (like FSCS in the UK). Instead, client money rules ensure separation and security.

Compliance & Security

What checks do I need to pass to become a client?

We follow KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB (Know Your Business) rules. You’ll need to provide ID, proof of address, and in the case of companies, incorporation documents.

What documents are required for onboarding?

For individuals: passport/ID, proof of address, source of funds. For companies: incorporation docs, shareholder register, director IDs, proof of business activity.

How does Vorto prevent fraud and money laundering?

We use transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, and enhanced due diligence to make sure all transactions are legitimate. Suspicious activity is reported to regulators.

Is my data safe with Vorto?

Yes. We comply with GDPR and international data protection laws. Your information is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold.
